MINUTES OF AN EMERGENCY MEETING OF
CHADDESLEY CORBETT PARISH COUNCIL
Held on Monday 11 July 2005
at the Chaddesley Corbett Village Hall
following the Planning Meeting
Present: Councillors: Chairman, Mr C Dodge, Mrs S
Holding, Mr H Grove, Mr J Swift, Mr R Higgins, Mrs V Adams, Mr M Gibbs,
Mrs Y L Scriven (clerk).
1. APOLOGIES: Cllrs Mr C Rowberry, Mr J Millington, Mrs
P Pardoe, Mr D Spencer
2. ANNUAL AUDIT: An emergency meeting
had been called to discuss a letter received from the External Auditor, Clement
Keys. The auditor had requested more information on why the Parish Council
Reserves were double that of the annual Precept.
It was agreed that the clerk would inform the auditor that reserves had been
built up over a period of time to purchase land for an extension to the burial
ground. However, this had been delayed due to environmental problems with the
land and the need to seek an alternative site. In recent months the parish had
been preparing a Parish Plan and the Parish Council were awaiting the completion
of this plan before deciding what action to take regarding land
acquisition, or alternative proposals for the development of the Parish.
It was anticipated that the Parish Plan would be completed before the end of
this financial year and a more positive report could be given at next year’s
audit. In the meantime, the Parish Council would keep the auditor informed of
any developments.
3. ANNUAL REPORT: It was agreed that
the Clerk would liaise with Cllrs in the preparation of this year’s annual
report.
4. WORTHY PARISHIONER: It was agreed
that the introduction of this scheme had been delayed and would be discussed
further at the September Parish Council Meeting.
The meeting closed at 7.45 p.m.
